Job summary

RL Canning, Inc. is seeking an experienced Integration Analyst to design, develop, and maintain HL7-based interface programs in a UNIX/AIX environment, with emphasis on Open Engine and Open HL7 standards.

The role requires collaboration with IT and healthcare teams to meet project needs and regulatory requirements. The position offers a remote USA role (central time zone) with a base salary between $100,000 and $110,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience programming HL7 interface engines.
• Deep understanding of HL7 standards and their application in designing, developing, and maintaining interface programs.
• Proficiency in Java programming and Oracle 9i/PL SQL.
• Familiarity with UNIX/AIX environments for maintaining robust applications.
• Familiarity with Cerner technology is preferred.
• Ability to analyze system requirements and design effective solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder liaison skills in a customer service environment.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support client projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interface programs using interface engine technology in accordance with HL7 standards.
• Create detailed specification documents outlining system requirements and designs for development and maintenance.
• Coordinate and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure robustness of interface applications.
• Automate processes with scripts to increase efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
• Manage system enhancements and upgrades to meet current and future needs.
• Collaborate with users to analyze system needs and gather requirements for design.
• Define project timelines and work independently to meet deadlines.
• Supervise and potentially train junior programmers and analysts as needed.
• Evaluate hardware and software alternatives and provide recommendations.
• Develop and implement change management processes with users and software vendors.
• Ensure data handling complies with laws and regulations for data security and privacy.
• Collaborate with IT and healthcare teams to ensure seamless integration with organizational goals.
• Monitor performance of interfaces and initiate improvements as needed.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency.
• Perform additional tasks to support business objectives.
