The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania invites applications for a Historic Preservation Specialist in the Environmental Review Division. You will help agencies identify and manage archaeological resources during project planning and advance collection management improvements.

You will support digitization guidance, curation, and training, while collaborating with federal, state, and local partners. The role includes telework up to three days per week and a standard schedule in Harrisburg area.

Competenze

• Meets the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for History, Archeology, Architectural History, Architecture, or Historic Architecture.
• At least 2 years of experience advising and assisting state and federal agencies, organizations, and/or individuals with the consideration of historic properties and archaeological sites in project planning.
• At least 2 years of experience interpreting and applying National Park Service guidance regarding the evaluation of historic properties for eligibility for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.

• Assist agencies in recognizing and considering archaeological resources during planning.
• Support efforts to improve consultation and review procedures with federal, state, and local partners.
• Develop and maintain digital archaeological collections records to enhance accessibility and integration with PA SHARE.
• Implement guidance to improve digitization and availability of records for agencies, applicants, and consultants.
• Aid in long term curation, guideline updates, and collaboration on cultural resource management plans.
• Provide direction to volunteers and interns, and participate in meetings and professional development.
