Qualifications

  • 5-6 years Acute Care Inpatient and Outpatient coding experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years auditing for Acute Care IP and OP.
  • 1 year Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure coding compliance and apply Coding Clinic guidelines.
  • Identify training needs and educate team members.
  • Perform focused reviews and quality audits with audit reports for leadership.
  • Assist leadership with reviews of internal and external coding audits.
  • Monitor coding functions for compliance with established standards.
  • Audit documentation opportunities and obtain missing documents as needed.
  • Serve as a clinical coding liaison with medical staff and CDI team.
  • Support iCare initiatives and DRG/CPT denial management as needed.
