Job summary

Connections Education LLC is recruiting a High School Principal for Alabama Connections Academy. Working from Athens, AL or from home within the state, you will lead teachers, coordinate with parents and students, and oversee the virtual high school program to ensure students complete their instructional plan.

The role requires a Master of Education (preferred), at least 3 years of leadership in a school, strong communication, and the ability to travel within the state as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Master of Education degree is preferred.
• Administrative or management experience within a school environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience in managing people.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Customer focused approach.
• High degree of flexibility, excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Technologically proficient (especially with use of the Internet and Microsoft Office products).
• Must be able to use personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication.

Responsibilities

• Manage the implementation of the proven Connections Academy curriculum and school operation protocols.
• Ensure that teachers exhibit and maintain a high level of professionalism, instructional support and customer service.
• Ensure the academic success of individual students by maintaining strong communication with parents.
• Implement and monitor the school improvement plan and annual goals.
• Deliver school outcomes based on annual goals including student achievement.
• Assist staff with program changes and new software introductions.
• Exhibit high-quality communication with all staff, students and families.
• Participate in parent outreach activities and informational meetings.
• Handle student problems escalated by parents and teachers.
• Support state standardized testing processes and ensure high participation rates.
• Serve as hiring manager for elementary school instructional positions.
• Provide assistance to families in need of support and encourage participation.
• Participate in student recruitment efforts and community outreach.
• Support a robust school community through field trips and virtual activities.
• Supervise and evaluate staff as required by state and district rules.
• Contribute to best practices for distance education.
