Job summary

tenavistaffing is seeking a HEDIS Chart Retrieval Nurse to support annual HEDIS data collection by obtaining medical records and closing documentation gaps. You will perform outbound outreach to physician offices, coordinate retrieval, review and upload records, and track progress in a secure system.

The role emphasizes strong communication, organization, and adherence to HIPAA in a remote, deadline-driven environment. Licensed RN or LPN/LVN with clinical or quality experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN or LPN/LVN license required.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical, managed care, quality, or related healthcare experience.
• Prior HEDIS or medical records retrieval experience preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical terminology.
• Strong communication and attention to detail; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outbound calls to request records for HEDIS measures.
• Explain required documentation, date ranges, and release-of-information rules.
• Coordinate secure transmission of records with provider offices.
• Follow up to obtain records within project timelines.
• Review records for completeness and upload to secure portal.
• Document outreach attempts and track pending/complete requests.
• Escalate delays or issues to project lead as needed.
• Manage daily outreach workload to meet targets.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect PHI.
• Perform other project-related duties as assigned.
