Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a remote Supply Chain Buyer to manage procurement of direct and indirect goods and services across clinical and technical categories. The role emphasizes contract knowledge, formulary alignment, and policy compliance to meet organizational goals.

You will work with caregivers and suppliers, handle urgent and stat orders, and drive cost and quality improvements while maintaining strong supplier relationships and risk management.

Qualifications

• Maintain professional license where necessary (e.g., pharmacy tech license).
• Attention to detail, sound decision making, urgency, and negotiation with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with multiple deadlines and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with service lines, suppliers and product categories to provide world class purchasing service.
• Procure moderate-to-high-dollar/risk purchases, including contracts, formulary items, and non-contracted items.
• Verify requisitions for accuracy, approvals, and generate Purchase Orders.
• Develop relationships with category managers to improve cost, quality, and supply continuity.
• Manage proactive supply risk plans and substitutes to avoid disruption.
• Ensure reports are reviewed to minimize disruptions and meet KPI targets.
