UnitedHealth Group seeks an experienced Healthcare Quality Measurement Consultant specializing in data analytics and coding. Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in health services research or policy, strong data skills (Python/SQL/R/SAS), and a track record in quality measure engagements with CMS.

Qualifications

• Health policy professional with 4+ years of industry experience in health services research, evaluation and/or policy and an advanced degree or a Bachelor’s with 6+ years experience.
• Experience leading business development and proposal response efforts with clients and partners.
• Experience with quality measure engagements, preferably for CMS.
• Experience with data used to measure health care quality (claims, EHR, chart data).
• Experience collaborating with diverse teams and communicating across technical backgrounds.
• Experience with clinical data from EHRs and/or claims in quality measurement.
• Experience implementing or supporting eCQMs for CMS programs.
• Understanding of federal/state health policy issues and policy-to-technical translation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate evidence on effectiveness for clinical measures derived from admin data, health records, EHRs, per CMS/NQF requirements.
• Perform hands-on coding to extract, transform, analyze, and validate large datasets using Python, SQL, R, or SAS; design coding solutions.
• Develop test measure protocols and measure specifications.
• Quantitatively analyze to inform quality measurement for Medicare/Medicaid models.
• Track committees and consensus-based organizations like NQF.
• Draft and manage proposals for new projects related to measure development and implementation.
• Engage and expand client relationships through policy consultation and thought leadership.
• Support development of strategy to fuel long-term growth with leadership.
• Manage project delivery teams and mentor staff.
