Job summary

Wipfli is seeking an outsourced controller for healthcare clients who will oversee multiple client teams, train staff, and maintain direct client contact for superior consulting services. Healthcare experience with physician practices or hospitals is required.

The role supports remote work anywhere in the US and includes leadership of US and offshore teams. Responsibilities include reviewing financials, benchmarking, budgeting, cash flow modeling, and technical accounting support, with up to 10%

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 4–6 years of experience in public or private accounting.
• 3+ years managing associates and/or teams.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Strong project management and relationship-building skills, with a client-first mindset.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in industry accounting software, e.g., QuickBooks Online, Sage Inacct, and a demonstrated ability to embrace new technologies.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Review financial reporting packages and work papers for quality, completeness, and timely delivery.
• Prepare and analyze benchmarking data and key performance indicators to support client insights.
• Present completed reporting packages and findings to clients as directed.
• Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models in alignment with client engagement terms.
• Provide technical accounting support to clients and their teams on complex issues.
• Identify operational inefficiencies through client discovery sessions and recommend actionable improvements.
• Lead and coordinate the efforts of US and offshore engagement team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables, efficient workflow management, and a consistent client experience.
• Lead and coach staff and senior accountants, providing guidance on accounting and financial reporting matters.
