Job summary

UF Health is seeking a skilled medical coder to review and code medical records, ensuring compliance with ICD, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines. This remote, full-time position requires residing in FL, GA, MO, PA, SC, NC, TN, or TX and collaborating with providers to clarify documentation.

You will audit data, support billing, and contribute to data integrity and reporting, with CPC certification required and CPC-A not acceptable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required at time of hire.
• Please note: CPC-A does not meet the certification requirements for this role.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and analyzes medical records to assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes.
• Ensures compliance with coding guidelines and organizational policies.
• Collaborates with healthcare providers to clarify documentation.
• Resolves coding discrepancies and maintains data integrity.
• Supports billing department with accurate coded information for claims.
• Audits coded data and monitors productivity and quality metrics.
• Trains staff on coding procedures and updates
