What is Irys?

Irys is the first L1 programmable datachain, designed to optimize data storage and execution. By combining storage and execution, it significantly increases the usefulness of blockspace, enabling a wider range of web services to come onchain that aren’t possible right now.

Ideal candidates have:

• Commercial Rust experience
• Open-source work/are active in the community
• Passionate about the web3 space
• Experience providing engineering leadership, making design and architectural decisions
• Hands-on leaders - this role will be 90% coding/design and 10% management

Bonus:

• Experience working in Reth/REVM
• Deep internal knowledge of the EVM

Irys has secured $8.9m of funding to date and will be raising Series A in early 2025. They have strong backing, work closely with big projects including Arweave and Backpack, and the ecosystem is continuing to grow.

Irys was previously Bundlr, focusing on on-chain data storage to help scale up Arweave. They have now launched their own L1 as Irys and are focused on creating the first L1 programmable datachain.
