Mr. Handyman of Wheaton is seeking a skilled Residential and Commercial Handyman to join our team serving the West Chicago area. The role blends on-site repairs with a commission-based earnings structure, while offering a W2 position with benefits, including 401(k) with match.

You will diagnose issues, perform diverse repair tasks, and provide accurate estimates on-site. A strong focus on craftsmanship, reliability, and customer satisfaction is essential in this role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on handyman, maintenance, or construction experience.
• Proficiency in carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and basic plumbing/electrical tasks.
• Comfortable with technology (iPads in the field).
• Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple job sites.
• Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
• Valid driver's license and good driving history.
• Own professional hand and power tools required for the trade.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose maintenance issues and recommend cost-efficient solutions.
• Perform a wide range of residential and commercial repair tasks.
• Complete carpentry, drywall, painting, caulking, and finish work.
• Handle minor plumbing and electrical repairs, fixture installations, and replacements.
• Install doors, windows, trim, shelving, and other components.
• Communicate professionally with customers before, during, and after each job.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure sites are left in excellent condition.
