Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Manager, GRC to lead the Technology Risk & Controls team in Security. You will drive second line advisory coverage across critical technology domains, evaluate risk posture, and partner with engineering and security leaders to implement stronger controls and governance.

You will manage and mentor analysts, translate complex risk concepts for diverse audiences, and ensure mitigations scale with business needs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technology risk, IT controls, IT audit, cybersecurity risk, or compliance with full-stack GRC delivery.
• Deep understanding of technical design and governance across infrastructure resiliency, SDLC, change management, or incident response.
• Hands-on experience evaluating risks and control design, partnering with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
• Proven track record mentoring analysts and leading teams to meet deliverables.
• Ability to translate complex risk concepts for technical and non-technical audiences and influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead second line advisory coverage for key technology and security domains, assessing risk exposure, control effectiveness, and policy alignment.
• Partner with engineering and technology teams to evaluate domain posture and identify required controls or governance improvements.
• Review and challenge risk designs and controls to ensure scalable, effective mitigations aligned with business and regulatory expectations.
• Coordinate across risk, controls, policy, audit, and assurance teams to translate findings into actionable improvements.
• Intake and triage inherent and residual risk with SMEs and risk owners to guide mitigation decisions.
• Enable leadership decision-making by communicating risk tradeoffs with clear narratives.
• Build, grow, and coach a team of analysts fostering agility and performance.
