Job summary

Blackboard is seeking a Director of Governance, Risk and Compliance to lead the ISMS program and translate complex regulatory requirements into practical security controls. You will report risk posture to senior management and collaborate with Architecture, Deployment, and Legal teams.

This remote US role emphasizes policy development, audit coordination, and vendor risk management. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in IT audit/compliance, deep knowledge of ISO27000, NIST, SOC, and PCI-DSS

Qualifications

US citizenship is required.
10+ years in IT audit and/or compliance.
Solid documentation and communication skills.
Knowledge of ISO27000, NIST SP 800-series, SOC audits, and data privacy laws.
Experience obtaining ATO/PrATO for cloud under FedRAMP/GovRAMP/IL-4.
Understanding of SDLC, cloud/server infra, network tech.
Experience leading security staff and collaborating with global teams.
Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain ISMS documentation including policies, standards, and procedures.
Coordinate external audits with 3PAO, ISO/SOC auditors, PCI DSS QSA firms.
Manage information risk assessment, access controls, and vendor risk.
Update policies in response to evolving regulatory environments.
Maintain security awareness and align security program with compliance needs.
Forecast, plan, and assess risk for evolving security controls.
Mentor and manage security personnel across teams.
