Job summary

The Sierra Club is seeking a Campaign Organizing Strategist based in Los Angeles (preferred) or remote in California. The role designs and guides state and multi-state campaign organizing as part of strategic planning, working with volunteers, staff, partners, and state leadership to win real victories and expand Sierra Club's grassroots power.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading field organizing campaigns and building grassroots power.
• Ability to design state or multi-state strategic campaigns with diverse tactics.
• Strong communication across stakeholders and ability to train volunteers.
• Experience developing volunteer leaders and managing teams.
• Knowledge of environmental and energy issues; climate justice and conservation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Campaign Strategy and Implementation: design state or multi-state strategic plans and oversee organizing tactics.
• Campaign Team Leadership: build campaign teams, coach organizers and track progress.
• Collaboration: maintain relationships with Chapter staff and volunteers and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Volunteer Leadership Development: develop and train volunteer leaders and mentoring.
• Strategic Local Representation: represent Sierra Club to public officials and media.
• Build and Participate on Teams: develop teams to advance campaign work.
• Seasonal Activities: heavier workloads and weekend/evening work as needed.
