Job summary

R.W. Mercer Co. is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphics Designer on a full-time contract basis to develop engaging visual content across branding, marketing, and digital campaigns.

The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for visual composition, proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), a solid portfolio, and the ability to translate business requirements into polished visuals for digital and print.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design.
• Strong portfolio across digital, print, branding and marketing design.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Solid understanding of typography, color theory, composition and layout.
• Experience creating designs for social media, websites, presentations and ads.
• Attention to detail and consistent visual standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop graphics and visual concepts for digital, print, marketing and communications.
• Design promotional materials, presentations, social media graphics, brochures and newsletters.
• Create visuals for websites, email campaigns and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with marketing, product and business teams to define creative objectives.
• Translate concepts into polished visual designs and brand-aligned outputs.
• Maintain consistency across typography, imagery and layouts.
• Edit, retouch, resize and optimize images for various channels.
• Prepare production-ready files meeting technical specifications.
• Manage multiple design projects with deadlines and changing requirements.
• Participate in reviews and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
• Organize design assets, templates, source files and brand materials.
• Research design trends and tools to improve workflows.
• Support basic motion graphics, video editing or interactive design when needed.
• Coordinate with external printers and vendors for production.
