Job summary

Inca is hiring a Software Engineer for the Research & Development team to design, build, and scale data products, infrastructure, and investigative tools. You will own core engineering initiatives and drive system integration under the Head of R&D, delivering production APIs, graph analytics, dashboards, and real-time alerting for federal and commercial clients.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and production data pipelines.
• Deep PostgreSQL experience including schema design and tuning.
• Graph data modeling and network analysis with Neo4j/Cypher.
• Experience deploying containerized services to AWS.
• Infrastructure-as-code tooling familiarity (Terraform).
• Production experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate end-to-end data infrastructure delivering APIs, containerized apps, alerts, and graph visualizations for clients.
• Model and deploy relational, document, and graph databases for investigations and large-scale network analysis.
• Build ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting diverse data sources from internal systems, APIs, and blockchain nodes.
• Own data quality, lineage, and reproducibility supporting enforcement and litigation needs.
• Automate orchestration and deployment through CI/CD into AWS environments.
• Collaborate with Head of R&D and data scientists to translate intelligence requirements into production software.
• Make architecture decisions and evaluate new tech spanning crypto, finance, and national security.
