Los Alamos National Laboratory, located in New Mexico, is offering a graduate student research intern position in the X-Computational Physics Division. The role focuses on developing and optimizing a code to model properties of warm dense matter, using multiple scattering theory and LANL's KKR code for large-scale simulations.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in physics, applied math, CS, or related fields, with experience in Fortran and Python, and are currently enrolled in a graduate

Qualifications

A strong background in physics, applied math, CS, ME, or materials science.
Experience with scientific computing and programming in Fortran.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with collaboration across groups.
Completed undergraduate degree in relevant field and enrolled in a graduate program.

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize code to model properties of warm dense matter.
Familiarize with multiple scattering theory for electronic structures.
Operate LANL's KKR code and optimize it for large-scale simulations.
Collaborate with LANL scientists across disciplines.
