Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is seeking a Governance Engineer II (Remote) to translate API, data, security, and Responsible AI policies into practical governance solutions. You will develop governance-as-code, guardrails, and self-service tools to enable secure API and AI access while enabling teams to innovate responsibly.

Collaborate with security, architecture, data, and engineering teams to automate compliance, improve lifecycle management, and monitor governance across APIs and AI agents.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in software engineering or related field.
• Experience designing, testing, and supporting REST APIs and integrations.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and governance-as-code.
• Familiarity with API security concepts (OAuth, authz).
• Experience with API lifecycle tools like Postman, SwaggerHub.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted engineering and agentic AI concepts.

Responsibilities

• Review API specifications and data contracts for alignment with REST, security, and data standards.
• Translate policies into standards, controls, templates, and reusable patterns.
• Promote consistent API design, data definitions, schemas, metadata, error models, and access patterns.
• Maintain governance artifacts, including standards, reference implementations, and reusable components.
• Track compliance, exceptions, adoption, and remediation across teams.
• Establish guardrails for AI agents discovering, accessing, and invoking APIs and data.
