Your Role:
As the GovCon Systems Analyst, you will oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of government contracting systems, ensuring accurate financial and timekeeping data flows across platforms for new client setup and ongoing client maintenance. This includes managing the eFAACT system (a SQL-based database) and its integration with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and payroll systems, such as ADP and PayChex.
In this role, you will bridge IT systems with accounting and compliance processes, supporting both internal and client-facing teams, and ensuring timekeeping data integrity through regular three-way reconciliations. You’ll also play a key role in shaping processes and procedures for this newly created position, with responsibilities of accounting reconciliations, financial reporting, and system-related troubleshooting.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a specialized environment focused on enhancing system efficiencies and delivering accurate, compliant financial data to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting skill set and a solid foundation in government contracting, regulatory compliance, cost accounting, and systems analysis—and be energized by the opportunity to own and evolve core IT functions that support our GovCon services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Systems Administration and Maintenance:
- Serve as the system owner for eFAACT (SQL-based GovCon platform), ensuring performance, data integrity, and compliance
- Oversee set up and configuration of new clients and contracts within the system
- Maintain and troubleshoot interfaces between eFAACT, QuickBooks Online (QBO), and payroll systems (ADP, PayChex, etc.)
- Ensure data accuracy through regular three-way reconciliations (eFAACT, QBO, payroll)
- Manage user permissions, updates, and system documentation
Government Contracting Support:
- Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and federal timekeeping rules
- Read and interpret contract documents to set up accurate system configurations
- Maintain a working knowledge of indirect rate structures and cost allocation methods
- Assist in audit preparation and system-based reporting as required
Accounting and Financial Support:
- Support client accounting operations, including:
- Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Job-costing and project tracking
- General Ledger (GL) reconciliations
- Financial reporting and month-end close processes
- Generate and analyze financial reports using SQL queries and system tools
Client and Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams and clients to troubleshoot system and data issues
- Provide insights into system enhancements and process improvements
- Train and support users on best practices and compliance protocols within the system
- Ensure consistent and reliable experiences for clients by maintaining accurate and accessible data
- Other duties as the role evolves
Essential Skills & Experience:
The ideal GovCon Systems Analyst candidate will have 2–4 years of hands-on experience with government contracting systems and financial data management. Candidates should possess a strong accounting background of 3+ years, including reconciliations, job-costing, cost accounting, and financial reporting. In addition:

- Experience supporting or working within US Government Contracts, particularly with a deep understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), indirect rate structures, rules and compliance rules.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and apply contract language
- Proficiency with SQL databases – writing queries, structure analysis, generating reports
- Experience supporting timekeeping systems and payroll data integration
- Strong analytical skills, project management abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-client environment
- Experience with financial systems and data query tools
- Self-starter, displaying confidence in one’s ability and able to work independently, with minimal direction
- Friendly, outgoing personality with a positive attitude and strong customer service skills who enjoys meeting and interacting with clients and staff
- Flexible and quickly adapts to a growing company atmosphere
- Strong emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset; able to translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Sound judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Experience with QuickBooks Online
- High degree of computer literacy, including extensive knowledge in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel
- Enjoys working in a telecommuting environment, including use of Zoom meetings
Minimum Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field
- Experience with government contracting software such as eFAACT or similar platforms preferrable, or willingness to learn
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and payroll systems (ADP, PayChex, etc.)
- Ongoing desire to expand knowledge of government contracting, accounting technology, and system automation tools
