Pivotal is seeking a contract Model-Based Design Engineer II to advance DO-331 MBSE processes for the Helix platform. You will trace requirements to control models, create an automated MIL test framework, and build unit tests with Simulink/Test.

Collaboration with GNC and systems engineers is essential in a remote, fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates bring MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow expertise, and a strong track record in requirements-based testing, coverage, and CI/CD integration.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
• 2+ years of industry experience in model-based design, verification, or GNC software development, or a Master’s degree with relevant research.
• Hands-on experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow.
• Experience writing requirements-based tests using Simulink Test or the MATLAB unit test framework.
• Experience collecting and analyzing model or code coverage (MC/DC) with Simulink Coverage.
• Experience with requirements traceability using tools such as Jama or DOORS.
• Proficiency in MATLAB scripting and Python for test automation.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or GitHub Actions).
• Strong written communication and ability to work independently on a remote team.

Responsabilidades

• Trace requirements from Jama to control system models using Requirements Toolbox.
• Link requirements to tests to enable traceability and coverage reporting.
• Flag gaps and ambiguities and resolve them with requirement owners.
• Build MIL integration test framework to simulate complete flight missions and verify against requirements.
• Develop the test suite for the framework and turn simulations into repeatable tests.
• Document the testing workflow and train the team to use it.
• Develop Simulink Test and MATLAB unit tests for core models and functions.
• Automate model and code coverage reporting and add coverage enforcement to CI/CD.
• Improve GitLab CI/CD pipelines for model-based development and DO-331 objectives.
• Contribute to modeling guidelines and process documentation.
