Job summary

Xcellent Technology Solutions, Inc is seeking a GIS System Administrator to support the United States Geological Survey (USGS). You will maintain Esri applications, apply GIS workflow knowledge, and provide administrative support within Windows and Esri environments.

This is a temporary 3-month contract position with potential for extension based on performance. The role requires strong communication and independent work in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related area with 2+ years of GIS experience
• Alternatively 4+ years of verified relevant experience in lieu of degree
• Experience resolving issues in Windows 11/Server environments and applying security updates
• Familiarity with Esri software and ArcGIS Enterprise components (ArcGIS Server, Portal, Web Adaptor, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online)
• Experience with other GIS applications like Global Mapper or GDAL is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple assignments remotely

Responsibilities

• Maintain Esri applications and GIS workflows to support analysts and researchers
• Provide administrative support within Windows and Esri environments
• Assist in keeping the National Map data up-to-date and reliable
