Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a GIS Specialist II for a remote, home-based role. You will coordinate, prepare, and process GIS information, edit digital map data, and support gas distribution system records across multiple states.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in GIS, experience with ArcGIS Enterprise/ArcCatalog, and strong communication and record-keeping skills. A valid driver's license is required; remote work is supported within several service territories.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of prior work experience in a similar GIS role.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise and ability to edit mapping systems.
• Knowledge of ArcCatalog and ESRI geodatabase formats.
• Familiarity with drafting, surveying, construction, and electronic mapping tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform GIS data creation, conversion, translation, migration, and import from various sources.
• Edit, QC, manipulate and analyze digital map data.
• Integrate other asset management programs into the GIS.
• Develop QA procedures, standards, and protocols.
• Archive digital media and source materials.
• Maintain metadata and map products; assist with DOT/PHMSA reports.
• Assist with distribution system operations and other duties as assigned.
