Job summary

System One is seeking a GIS Data Maintenance and Application Support Specialist for a part-time contract role. This remote position supports a county GIS program, assisting with data maintenance, QA/QC, and workflow documentation for public safety operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience with GIS data management, possess strong collaboration skills, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating with local staff in MD, DC, or VA as needed.

Qualifications

Experience with GIS data maintenance and spatial analysis.
Ability to support GIS applications and data workflows.
Strong QA/QC and data validation capabilities.
Good documentation of procedures and work completed.
Excellent collaboration with GIS staff and support teams.
High attention to detail and organization.

Responsibilities

Assist the local County Police Department GIS program with maintaining GIS data and supporting GIS applications.
Edit, maintain, and validate GIS datasets.
Perform QA/QC on spatial and attribute data.
Support data cleanup, standardization, and documentation.
Update web maps, feature services, and GIS applications.
Assist with testing GIS applications after updates or changes.
Support GIS maintenance activities and special projects as assigned.
Assist with GIS data preparation, map production, and spatial analysis for public safety operations.
