Job summary

Mercor seeks experienced German Linguistic Experts to join a cutting-edge AI research project with a leading research lab. The role centers on evaluating how well a large language model handles German-language tasks and on curating high-quality German data to train the model.

You will edit, annotate, and provide linguistic feedback to guide model training, identify errors, and collaborate with researchers to improve German performance. Remote, distributed teamwork is supported.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in German.
• Experience in literary editing, copywriting, criticism, or NLP-related linguistic annotation in German.
• Strong understanding of literary complexity, tone, and regional language variations.
• Interest in AI or LLM research is a plus.
• Excellent written communication and ability to work with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate quality and accuracy of LLM-generated German text across use cases.
• Edit, refine, or rewrite German content to meet linguistic and literary standards.
• Annotate German texts for grammatical, syntactic, semantic, and stylistic features.
• Identify model errors and collaborate with researchers to improve German performance.
• Provide detailed linguistic feedback to guide model training.
