Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer in Austin, TX to perform field work, analyze data, and prepare geotechnical reports. The role involves designing foundations, evaluating slope stability, and contributing to project documentation under supervision.

The position requires a Master’s in geotechnical engineering with 4 years of related experience, proficiency in Geostudio SEEP/W SLOPE/W, and an active US EIT license. Telecommuting up to 2 days weekly and travel up to 25% are expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience.
• Experience with slope stability, seepage, settlement and foundation design.
• Ability to read drawings and write geotechnical specifications.
• 3 years with geotechnical software Geostudio SEEP/W SLOPE/W required.
• Active U.S. EIT license; telecommuting up to 2 days/week, travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Perform field work related to geotechnical explorations and QA/QC.
• Prepare civil/geotechnical designs, drawings, specs, and presentations.
• Write geotechnical reports describing field work and analyses.
• Develop recommendations and supporting documentation for reports.
• Assist team with submittals, RFIs, and contract clarifications; prepare proposals.
