Job summary

NGS is seeking a Software Engineer to join a distributed team embedding geospatial capabilities in a partner's command and control platform used by U.S. military commands. You will implement Go services for tactical message parsing, routing, and translation, and expose data via APIs.

Front-end work in React may occur for map or operator views. You will collaborate across time zones, align with a release schedule, and grow in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment while maintaining robust,

Qualifications

• Professional software engineering experience building production backend services.
• Journeyman: 3+ years. Senior: 8+ years.
• Experience integrating software with military or tactical systems.
• This role requires comfort with network programming and modern CI/CD workflows.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Go services for tactical message parsing, routing, and translation.
• Integrate NGS capability into a partner platform through APIs and data models.
• Build and extend React front-end components for operator views when needed.
• Deploy and troubleshoot in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Collaborate with distributed teams across time zones and organizations.
• Support integration events, demos, and issue resolution under time pressure.
• Follow secure coding practices and DoD security requirements.
