Job summary

The University Accounting and Financial Reporting division at the University of Illinois System is seeking a Financial Accounting and Reporting Analyst to support fund accounting, reconciliations, and UBIT compliance. The role requires collaboration with the Associate Director and provides hybrid/remote options.

Responsibilities include bank reconciliations, documentation, year-end close tasks, audit support, and guidance on service plan funds, student enrollment deposits, and general ledger

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field; two years of accounting experience OR CPA/CIA/CMA or related license.
• Master's degree in Accountancy or related field is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete system-wide bank reconciliations with issue investigation.
• Document accounting procedures for bank reconciliations and operational tasks.
• Analyze Banner transactions to determine accrual or deferral adjustments.
• Contribute to Year-End Fact Sheet and conversion to accrual accounting.
• Support UBIT return preparation and compliance with IRS guidelines.
• Assist units in identifying and correcting accounting errors and training Banner users.
• Provide guidance on service plan funds and student enrollment deposit funds.
• Compile data for external audit requests.
• Prepare documentation of accounting theory and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
