Job summary

Horizontal Talent is seeking a remote contract front-end developer to support a Sitecore-based web platform. This role suits someone who enjoys working in established enterprise environments, building responsive and accessible user experiences, and partnering closely with developers, designers, and business stakeholders.

You will implement front-end features with vanilla JavaScript and RequireJS, work with Sitecore templates, and ensure cross-browser compatibility and performance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional front-end or web development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with vanilla/plain JavaScript.
• Experience with RequireJS or similar module-loading/dependency management approaches.
• Solid HTML5 and CSS3 development skills.
• Experience supporting server-rendered websites or applications.
• Direct Sitecore experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug JavaScript, CSS, DOM, and browser-related issues.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and client/server web application architecture.
• Experience using Git or similar source-control tools.
• Understanding of accessibility standards, including WCAG.
• Comfort working within an existing or legacy codebase and following established patterns.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain front-end for a Sitecore website.
• Build modular features with vanilla JavaScript and RequireJS.
• Create responsive, accessible interfaces with HTML5, CSS3, and JS.
• Work with Sitecore templates, layouts, components, and markup.
• Investigate and resolve browser, device, DOM, and JS issues.
• Collaborate with backend, UX/UI designers, and Agile team members.
• Consume REST APIs and integrate front-end with back-end services.
• Support accessibility and cross-browser compatibility.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, releases, and production support.
• Contribute clean, documented code within an established codebase.
