Job summary

SERanking seeks a freelance video scriptwriter to develop scripts for our YouTube channel focused on SEO, AI search, and marketing workflows. You’ll research, structure, write, and deliver visual directions in a shoot-ready document. Expect 2–3 scripts monthly and collaboration with the channel manager.

You don’t need YouTube veteran status; you should understand platform mechanics, viewer behavior, and apply data and playbooks to craft compelling narratives.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of hands-on script writing for YouTube or similar formats.
• Strong English writing that reads like everyday speech (B2–C1).
• Familiarity with SEO or digital marketing.
• Ability to follow defined editorial guidelines and tone of voice.
• Ability to think visually; each line should answer what is on screen.
• Experience using AI tools in your workflow (Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini).

Responsibilities

• Write long-form YouTube scripts (8-15 minutes) from a topic brief: hook, structure, segments, payoff.
• Create scripts for YouTube Shorts promoting the long-form videos.
• Add visual directions: screen recordings, b-roll ideas, on-screen text, examples.
• Build scripts for retention: hooks, open loops, re-hooks, pacing, payoff.
• Research topics deeply to write with authority: SEO concepts, AI search developments, industry trends.
• Write in the brand’s voice and maintain tone.
• Iterate with 1-2 revision rounds per script with channel manager.
• Adapt product tools/features into viewer-facing benefits.
