Job summary

Welocalize is seeking a Hydrus - Session Director for Portuguese (Brazil) on a freelance remote basis. You will direct voice performers, coach for natural delivery, and adjust scripts for regional authenticity while maintaining session quality.

Qualifications

Native fluency in Portuguese (Brazil) with a strong ear for natural phrasing.
Experience directing or producing voice or audio talent (direction, casting, studio production, dubbing).
Ability to give clear, actionable performance direction.
Good knowledge of basic recording/mic technique (proximity, plosives, room noise, levels).
Comfort improvising and adjusting scripted material on the spot.
Excellent interpersonal skills; able to build rapport with performers of varying experience.

Responsibilities

Direct voice performers through scripted scenarios and coaching for natural delivery.
Provide scene context and improvise to fill narrative gaps while sessions run.
Adapt wording for natural phrasing and dialect authenticity as needed.
Monitor and correct audio quality in real time (mic technique, pacing, noise).
Manage session pacing to meet recording targets while keeping quality high.
Create a supportive environment for performers, including first-time talent.
