Job summary

micro1 is a data lab that designs finance and accounting benchmark tasks for AI systems. You will craft multi-step FP&A tasks with clear, objective grading criteria, drawing on real financial work and reference files.

The role is remote, global, and contract-based, paying up to $90/hour for project-based work requiring strong Excel skills and flawless English writing. Experience in FP&A, audits, and financial reporting is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on FP&A, financial reporting, audit, reconciliations, or accounting.
• Experience creating or applying structured review standards: audit programs, checklists, rubrics.
• Strong Excel capability and comfort reasoning across multiple documents.
• CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent is a plus, but not required.
• Strong written English.
• AI or LLM evaluation experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design multi-step tasks drawn from real finance and accounting work with reference files and clear instructions.
• Define objective grading criteria so two reviewers would reach the same verdict on outputs.
• Build tasks that require judgment rather than lookup and depend on reading materials correctly.
• Create or source supporting materials: spreadsheets, GL extracts, financial statements, policy documents.
• Flag tasks that are ambiguous or ungradable instead of submitting them.
• Deliver approved tasks on schedule and at the required quality level.
