Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Psychologist Peer Reviewer for outpatient/public sector roles, including ABA and psychosocial rehabilitation. The role requires independent, licensed psychologists in Florida, with 3+ years post-licensure and experience interfacing with insurers for authorizations and claims.

Remote-friendly, standard M-F schedule (8:30am–5pm CST) with opportunities to collaborate in a clinical team and participate in trainings and meetings.

Qualifications

• Licensed doctoral level Psychologist in Florida with ability to obtain additional licensures.
• 3+ years post-licensure experience.
• Experience working with insurance companies for authorizations and peer reviews.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and data management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical reviews for authorization and coverage decisions.
• Manage ongoing outpatient care where length of stay or frequency exceeds norms.
• Process requests for non-standard outpatient services (ABA, psychosocial rehab, in-network accommodations).
• Handle appeals of previously denied services and participate in team consultations.
