Job summary

Alt is building Vault as a standalone business and seeks a founding engineer to own and ship end-to-end Vault infrastructure. You will automate intake, scan orchestration, and quality control, while also expanding the digitization stack to create 360-degree asset views for cards and other collectibles.

You’ll build APIs and infrastructure for enterprise partners, guiding the product from design to production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend experience (Python, Postgres, AWS or similar cloud infrastructure) and frontend experience (React, React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Own features or systems from design to production: design doc through shipped UI.
• Business-owner thinking: understand P&Ls, SLAs, and run it as an independent unit.
• Energized by operational complexity bridging software and the physical world: logistics, imaging, asset handling, partner integrations.
• Pragmatic with pace: know when to build vs integrate, bias toward action.
• Strong collaboration and communication: documentation, questions, feedback.
• User-first mindset with clean UX and performance.

Responsibilities

• Own vault pipeline automation to drastically reduce time from item received to live on platform.
• Architect Vault-as-a-Service APIs, account infrastructure, and external integrations for enterprise partners.
• Optimize digitization stack for imaging and 360-degree views for digital repackers.
• Build the full stack from design to polished UI; ensure backend and frontend surfaces are cohesive.
• Mentor and grow the Vault team through code reviews and technical documentation.
• Lead with AI-enabled workflows: quality control, anomaly detection, and automation ideas.
