Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Blockchain Networks team within the Platform group, to translate complex blockchain operations into simple, reliable APIs that product teams rely on, enabling new assets, stablecoins, and staking.

You will own multi-quarter technical initiatives, design scalable infrastructure, define APIs and SLOs, drive cross-team collaboration, and optimize latency, reliability and cost across the crypto stack.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of production services in a service-oriented architecture.
• Proven track record designing, scaling, and maintaining distributed systems handling high-throughput, low-latency workloads.
• Demonstrated ability to decompose complex systems into well-bounded microservices with clear API contracts.
• Hands-on experience with at least two of Golang, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB.
• Direct experience with blockchain protocols or crypto infrastructure (e.g., Ethereum, Bitcoin).
• Ability to translate blockchain operations into reliable internal APIs while using AI responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of blockchain network infrastructure that abstracts blockchain complexity into reliable, platform APIs.
• Lead multi-quarter initiatives including new chain integrations and data migrations to improve latency, reliability, and cost.
• Define and maintain APIs, SLOs, and observability for the systems you build, including on-call ownership.
• Partner with product and platform teams to establish data contracts and ship SDKs and platform primitives.
• Build deep technical context across multiple top blockchain protocols and simplify cross-chain operations.
