Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Blockchain Networks team within the Platform group. You will build infrastructure that abstracts blockchain protocols into reliable APIs used by product teams, owning multi-quarter initiatives that improve latency, reliability, and cost of the crypto stack.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with production services ownership.
• Experience designing, scaling, and maintaining distributed systems with high throughput and low latency.
• Hands-on with at least two: Golang, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB.
• Direct experience with blockchain protocols or crypto infrastructure.
• Ability to decompose monoliths into microservices with clear API contracts.
• Responsible AI usage with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own blockchain network infrastructure APIs and abstractions to simple platform APIs.
• Lead multi-quarter initiatives including new chain integrations and migrations to improve latency and cost.
• Define and maintain APIs, SLOs, and on-call ownership for the systems you build.
• Partner with product and platform teams to ship SDKs and platform primitives that drive adoption.
• Develop deep technical context across Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other protocols to simplify cross-chain operations.
