Job summary

Coinbase, a remote-first company, is seeking a Risk Architect on the Trading team to design and own a real-time cross-asset risk engine that evaluates user and portfolio risk across markets with speed and accuracy.

You will build low-latency, high-throughput risk systems, own SLOs and observability, and mentor engineers while partnering with Product, Trading, Financing/Credit Risk, Security, and Compliance to turn technical vision into a roadmap.

Qualifications

• Hands-on architect with 24/7 risk systems experience.
• Production-grade distributed systems expertise.
• Cross-asset risk system experience with real-time evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Own real-time, cross-asset risk engine architecture.
• Design low-latency, high-throughput risk systems.
• Drive reliability, observability, and incident response for risk systems.
• Set engineering standards and reduce critical technical debt.
• Mentor engineers and reduce single points of failure."
• Partner with Product, Trading, Financing, Security and Compliance to translate vision into roadmap.
