Orion Placement is seeking an attorney licensed in Virginia to oversee family law matters in a remote-first firm. You will handle divorce, custody, support, and complex financial issues with a focus on negotiated resolutions and durable outcomes.

Work autonomously from a remote setting with optional in-office court appearances as needed. A growth path toward partnership exists as the firm expands, with a supportive, technology-forward environment.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia State Bar license in good standing.
• 2+ years of directly relevant family law experience.
• Strong negotiation and settlement skills with a focus on durable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage family law matters from strategy through resolution (divorce, custody, support, equitable distribution).
• Develop case strategies prioritizing negotiated resolutions and minimizing conflict.
• Represent clients in court when needed with professionalism and sound judgment.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel to pursue durable outcomes.
• Draft pleadings, motions, agreements, and case documents with strong research.
• Communicate proactively with clients throughout their matters.
• Help clients focus on practical, long-term solutions during transitions.
• Coordinate with paralegals and staff to keep files organized and deadlines met.
• Work independently in a remote environment while staying connected with the team.
