Job summary

Oscilar seeks a data-centric engineer to own the analytics data layer and design our analytics architecture. You will craft a multi-tier platform with a fast serving tier and a scalable batch/ML layer, balancing latency, cost, and isolation while guiding multi-quarter strategy.

This hands-on role requires writing code and shaping the analytics product's direction with strong architectural influence.

Qualifications

• Deep production experience with a data store under concurrent load.
• Strong SQL and a model for columnar/OLAP execution.
• Backend engineering experience in a Java-based stack.
• Experience designing multi-tier data platforms with measurable tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Own the analytical data schema and data model.
• Design and build tiered analytics architecture across storage tiers.
• Decide workload placement based on latency and cost with benchmarks.
• Ensure observability and fast, reliable serving of analytics queries.
• Collaborate with ingestion to keep read/write paths coherent as schemas evolve.
• Write code with architectural influence for multi-quarter roadmap.
