Job summary

Lexipol’s Fire and EMS Grant Writing Consultant role is a remote, seasonal contract. The position supports the Grants Team by developing narrative grant content, performing grant research, and consulting with agencies one-on-one on Fire and EMS grant programs.

The consultant will craft compelling narratives, conduct targeted research, and coordinate with the project manager to ensure timely submission of complete grant applications. Two+ years of grant writing experience in Fire/EMS is required.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of professional grant writing and consulting experience within Fire and EMS sectors.
• Excellent writing, editing, and research skills with the ability to craft clear and persuasive narratives.
• Experience writing for programs like AFG, FP&S, and/or SAFER grants.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and foundation grant processes benefiting Fire and EMS departments.
• Ability to identify grant opportunities from state and federal agencies, foundations, and other funding sources.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive narratives for grant applications and provide guidance to project managers and agencies.
• Consult with agency points of contact on items needed for narratives and recommend project eligibility.
• Advise and research potential grant programs for departments, agencies, and governments we serve.
• Meet with agencies one-on-one to discuss projects and recommended grant opportunities.
• Provide in-depth grant research results to the grants team for various products and clients.
