Job summary

Allstate Insurance Co. is seeking a Cloud FinOps Engineer to help teams understand and optimize cloud and containerized workloads across the organization.

You will analyze usage data, identify opportunities, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for engineering, product, finance and leadership. You’ll build lightweight scripts, dashboards, and repeatable workflows to reduce manual analysis and drive cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience analyzing cloud infra, containers, or Kubernetes workloads.
• Knowledge of cloud billing, usage, forecasting and cost optimization concepts.
• Ability to use Python or another scripting language for automation and data prep.
• Experience using data to identify trends and make actionable recommendations.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical/financial info to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze cloud and Kubernetes usage to identify idle capacity and cost inefficiencies.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to evaluate recommendations and help implement.
• Build lightweight scripts, API integrations, and repeatable workflows to automate analyses.
• Develop reports, dashboards, forecasts, and cost insights to guide planning.
• Support cloud commitment planning, reservations, and savings programs.
• Help expand FinOps practices with standards, docs, education and tooling.
