Job summary

Machine Ranger has an opening for a Remote Field Technician to travel across Texas, inspecting and preparing heavy equipment for sale. You’ll visit customer sites, diagnose conditions, write inspection reports, and perform minor repairs to ready machines for the marketplace.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of heavy equipment experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a valid driver's license with a clean record; ASE or CDL credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of heavy equipment repair/inspection experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• ASE certification, OEM training or CDL a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Machine Ranger is a heavy equipment marketplace based in Florida, serving buyers and sellers across the USA, Canada, and South America.

What You’ll Do

• Travel to customer locations across Texas to inspect and assess heavy equipment
• Diagnose condition across engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, undercarriage, and power trains
• Write clear, accurate inspection and condition reports
• Perform minor repairs and service work to prepare equipment for sale
• Document hours, serial numbers, and visible wear or defects
• Communicate findings clearly to our sales team and, when needed, directly to buyers

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of heavy equipment or mobile equipment repair/inspection experience (3-5 years preferred)
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record — this role involves significant regional travel
• Comfortable working independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
• ASE certification, OEM-specific training (Caterpillar, John Deere, or similar), or CDL a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
