Job summary

Alfa Laval Global is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician focused on controls and automation. This fully remote role, with preference for the Eastern US, involves installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical control systems across customer sites. Expect 75-85% travel in the US and occasional international assignments.

You will read electrical/mechanical drawings, interpret schematics, and ensure safety compliance while delivering top-tier customer service and training.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings (electrical/mechanical).
• 3+ years Field Service in mechanical/electrical/automation (pumps, air handling, valves, heat exchangers).
• HVAC certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI software (Rockwell).
• Knowledge of VFD setup and troubleshooting.
• Willing and able to travel 75-85% across the US and sometimes internationally.
• High School Diploma or Associate's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and maintain electrical control systems, including PLCs, sensors, actuators, and related equipment.
• Provide on-site troubleshooting and repair services for customers, diagnosing complex issues.
• Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and other diagrams.
• Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, valves and control systems.
• Provide training and technical advice to customers on operation and maintenance.
• Document service activities with forms, reports, and logs; maintain records.
