Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Caretaker Field Service Technician to install, maintain and troubleshoot equipment at customer sites across the United States. You will diagnose using test equipment, perform preventive maintenance and commissioning on turbomachinery and package systems, under supervision.

The role requires willingness to travel, valid DOT drug screen and physical, clean driving record, and the ability to obtain offshore OGUK certification if needed. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience desired.
• Knowledge of customer service concepts and ability to provide excellent service.
• Ability to diagnose malfunctions with test equipment and refer to schematics when needed.
• Ability to perform routine installations and adjustments under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Use test equipment to diagnose malfunctions and refer to schematics as needed.
• Under supervision use hand tools, gauges and instruments to analyze, repair or replace faulty parts.
• Observe common causes of trouble and perform preventive maintenance with guidance.
• Perform routine installations and make adjustments within normal procedures.
