Job summary

Shift5 is seeking a Mission Operations Specialist to support field deployment, installation, configuration, testing, and sustainment of Shift5 solutions across customer platforms. This role sits at the intersection of Field Integration, Hardware & Software Deployment, and Systems Sustainment and is remote, based out of Fort Hood.

The candidate will travel up to 30% domestically, work hands-on with hardware and software in defense environments, and troubleshoot issues on-site while coordinating

Qualifications

• Experience with field installations and hands-on tech work in IT, electronics, or related areas.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures and install hardware/software.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically, and to deploy with field teams.
• Active U.S. security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Install Shift5 hardware, sensors, networking gear, and cabling on diverse platforms.
• Configure and install software, OS images, and system configurations across hardware.
• Run startup checklists and verification tests to verify readiness and safety.
• Travel to customer sites to lead on-site integration and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network issues on-site and document results.
• Document installation activities and maintain deployment kits and tools.
