Job summary

nVent seeks a senior technical lead for Data Solutions to partner with customers, sales, and engineering. The role focuses on turning real-world challenges into practical data center solutions while working remotely with travel across the US and Canada.

You will apply extensive knowledge of air and liquid cooling and power architectures to tailor engineered products and quotes. Key responsibilities include leading product improvements, training customers, and ensuring compliant, competitive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or applications engineering.
• Ideally 5+ years in a technical applications role supporting Data Center solutions.
• Remote work ability with travel up to 30% across US/Canada.
• Strong background in Air and Liquid Cooling for data centers.
• Understanding of Data Center Power Architecture (UPS to rack).
• Excellent customer-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as domain authority for nVent Data Solutions products and applications.
• Provide first-line product support to customers and colleagues.
• Evaluate RFQs and build costing/quotes with technical content.
• Provide technical assistance to identify modified engineered products.
• Prepare quotations & proposals for non-standard products using CPQ/ERP.
• Lead product training for customers and distributors on quoting tools.
• Prepare compliance documents against specifications.
• Lead strategic projects for improvements, cost reductions, and new products.
• Review training literature for technical accuracy and procedures.
• Represent nVent in industry codes and standards committees.
• Provide market intelligence and VOC feedback to commercial teams.
