Archesys Inc. is seeking a FHIR Software Engineer to drive design, development, and implementation of healthcare data exchange systems using FHIR standards.

This fully remote, full-time role emphasizes architectural leadership, technical direction, and collaboration across product, healthcare, and IT teams to modernize systems. The candidate will lead RESTful API design, guide FHIR adoption, ensure HIPAA compliance, and stay current with US healthcare interoperability trends, including USCDI/US

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software architecture and development with a focus on healthcare applications.
• Extensive experience with FHIR and HL7 standards.
• API design and RESTful services experience.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for FHIR solutions.
• HIPAA CMS interoperability knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and implementation of interoperability solutions based on FHIR standards.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams with compliance to FHIR/HL7 and data security.
• Collaborate with product owners, healthcare professionals, and IT to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
• Develop architectural roadmaps, define requirements, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for seamless data exchange across healthcare systems.
• Assess FHIR adoption strategies and cloud migration considerations.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and data privacy.
• Stay current with evolving FHIR standards and regulations to guide innovation.
• Publish HL7 FHIR Implementation Guides (IG) and profiles.
• Understand USCDI/US Core IG; knowledge of USCDI+ and QI Core IG is a plus.
• Benchmark HL7 FHIR servers using synthetic data for testing.
• Document work in Confluence and manage user stories in Jira.
• Bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Communicate complex FHIR solutions to stakeholders and CMS guidelines.
