Job summary

FYI - For Your Information, Inc. is seeking an experienced Employment Law Attorney to join our federal practice in Washington, DC. The role focuses on labor relations in the federal sector, including statute interpretation and arbitration support.

You will prosecute and defend cases before arbitrators and the FLRA, craft case strategies, prepare witnesses, and draft briefs and memoranda. Strong writing and advocacy skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Employment Law Attorney in good standing.
  • Expertise in federal sector labor relations incl. 5 U.S.C. Chapter 71.
  • Extensive litigation experience, with agency rep/counsel in labor relations arbitrations.
  • Proven success in grievance arbitrations: case strategy, witness prep, briefs.
  • Ability to interpret CBAs, MOUs, and related labor‑management agreements.
  • Knowledge of FLRA decisions, MSPB interactions, and precedents.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills for arbitration briefs, memos, settlements.
  • Experience presenting before arbitrators and FLRA.
  • Strong oral advocacy and cross‑examination skills.
  • Ability to provide strategic labor relations advice to agency leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement case strategy for arbitrations.
  • Prepare witnesses, present evidence, and draft post‑hearing briefs.
  • Interpret and apply CBAs and MOUs and related agreements.
  • Advise agency leadership on labor relations matters.
  • Represent agency before FLRA and arbitrators.
  • Conduct legal research and draft briefs and memoranda.
  • Support compliance with federal labor relations frameworks.
