Job summary

Tripoint Solutions is seeking a Cloud Engineer to build, operate, and automate AWS GovCloud infrastructure for a federal education program. You will collaborate with the cloud, Salesforce, integration, and data teams to keep environments secure, available, and compliant.

Remote work is available for states supported by Tripoint Solutions. The role requires ~5+ years in cloud engineering, hands-on GovCloud experience, and strong Python automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or operations.
• Hands-on AWS GovCloud experience.
• Hands-on AWS experience across compute, storage, networking, identity (VPCs, subnets, routing, peering, Route 53, load balancers, VPN/Direct Connect).
• Experience integrating AWS with Salesforce and MuleSoft.
• Hands-on AWS Glue experience.
• Proficiency with IAM policy design, KMS, least-privilege access models.
• Linux system administration; Python for automation.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or equivalents.
• Cloud security principles and hardening; federal-certs like ATO/STIG/Nessus helpful.
• Monitoring with CloudWatch or Splunk; prior federal contract experience.

Responsibilities

• Provision, configure, and operate AWS GovCloud infrastructure including EC2, S3, EBS, RDS, VPCs, subnets, security groups, Route 53.
• Build and support integrations between AWS and Salesforce; MuleSoft interfaces.
• Build and maintain AWS Glue data pipelines.
• Implement S3 lifecycle, tiering, and retention policies.
• Secure RDS and data services with least-privilege access, encryption, network isolation.
• Implement and maintain IAM, KMS, and secret management.
• Integrate automated security scanning and CI/CD security checks.
• Support STIG, RMF, ATO activities and vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain deployment runbooks, rollback plans, and change control artifacts.
• Automate operational tasks using Python.
