Sapere Law & Mediationis a boutique Southern California firm with a high-performing, client-centered team handling complex divorce, mediation, and estate planning matters. We’re seeking a part-time remote California family law paralegal to join our team with potential to grow into a full-time role. You’ll work closely with attorneys and our on-site paralegal, supporting clients with professionalism, precision, and heart.
If you are a proactive, highly organized paralegal with recent, hands-on California family law experience (3+ years) and knowledge of Riverside and San Diego County court practices, we’d love to hear from you. You may reside outside of California, but current and relevant California family law experience is required.
Position Overview
- Position: Remote Paralegal (Part-time, with potential to full-time)
- Schedule: Flexible hours (minimum 20/week), Pacific Time Zone alignment required
- Location: Remote (U.S.-based, must have recent California family law experience)
- Practice Areas: Family Law (required); Estate Planning & Mediation (preferred)
- Compensation: $30–$45/hour, depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor litigation calendars, deadlines, and case tasks
- Draft pleadings, declarations, subpoenas, discovery, and correspondence
- Prepare and format legal documents for e-filing in Riverside and San Diego County courts
- Guide clients in completing disclosures and collect necessary information for declarations,
- Track case progress and maintain ongoing communication with clients
- Coordinate with our on-site paralegal for seamless file management and client service
- Communicate professionally with courts, counsel, and clients via email and phone
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recent, hands-on experience as a paralegal in California family law
- U.S.-based; may live outside California but must have working knowledge of CA courts and
practices
- Strong understanding of Riverside and San Diego County court filing
procedures
- Technology: Own reliable, up to date computer, dual monitors, webcam, printer/scanner,
and high-speed internet
- Detail-oriented with strong self-management and confidentiality practices
- Positive, responsive, no-drama problem solver who thrives in a high-performance team
