Job summary

Connections Academy in Georgia is seeking an ESOL Teacher to support English Learners across grades 5-12 in a virtual school setting. You will teach, design EL plans, coordinate with Federal Programs, and ensure compliance with state requirements while working from our Duluth office or remotely from anywhere in Georgia.

Ideal candidates are ESOL certified, highly organized, tech-savvy, with strong communication skills and experience teaching in a fast-paced virtual environment.

Qualifications

• Highly qualified and certified to teach ESOL
• Strong technology skills (Microsoft OS & MS Office)
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with collaborative mindset
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Travel for ACCESS testing or screening (may require overnight travel)
• One or more years' experience as an ESOL Teacher
• Must use a personal device and email for two-step authentication

Responsibilities

• Create EL plans, conduct Live Lessons, and monitor EL progress
• Plan, prepare and deliver EL lessons
• Track, document, and communicate EL status to families
• Hold conferences with families at key points in the year
• Assist with testing coordination and data filing for federal/state reports
• Support the instructional program with synchronous and asynchronous lessons
• Collaborate with other teachers to review data and adjust strategies
• Host Parent Engagement sessions and assist Directors with meetings
